[...] A total of 22 rockets fired from the Gaza Strip struck Israel on Sunday, one of which exploded in an empty school playground in the northern Negev city of Ashdod. There were no casualties in the incident. Gaza militants fired another 21 rockets at Israel on Saturday. [continued…] Editor’s Comment — To put these numbers in perspective, in 2008 the peak number of rockets fired from Gaza prior to the ceasefire was fewer than 9 a day.
Astute analysis as always, but on the subject of graphical propaganda take a look at the cartoon/logo used to show what the Israeli Ministory of Foreign Affairs calls 'The Hamas War against Israel' at http://www.mfa.gov.il/MFA/Terrorism-+Obstacle+to+Peace/Hamas+war+against+Israel/Missile+fire+from+Gaza+on+Israeli+civilian+targets+Aug+2007.htm

Why not reverse the image to recognize the civilians (men, women and children) in Gaza? Or are there no civilians in the Occupied Territories [and make no mistake, Gaza continued to be occupied even after the Israeli 'withdrawal' since, as Richard Falk shows, occupation is a matter of effective control not merely ground presence]?

And since the Ministry evidently wants the graphic to be taken literally, if this represents a Hamas missile then how big would an Israeli bomb be? And how many of them? Just thought I'd ask.....
