Commenting
In its original form as an early Blogger blog, War in Context had no commenting feature. By the time Blogger offered commenting, I’d already chopped and changed the code too many times. So, for those readers who’ve been patiently waiting literally years to speak up, here’s your opportunity. But first I’d like to offer some guidelines. Commenting on political blogs can easily degenerate into a rantosphere. For that reason, I encourage commentors to treat this as an arena for the exchange of ideas — not verbal combat.
If this is the first time you’ve made a comment, a brief introduction would be welcome.
Own your words. Saying who you are is a good way of showing that you stand behind what you say.
There’s a big difference between needing to be heard and having something to say. I don’t want this to be either an echo chamber for the like-minded or a shouting match among the hard-of-hearing.
Keep the conversation open and to the point.
First-time comments are moderated. Disruptors will be excluded. Any comment containing more than one link will be treated as spam.
