If the UN were actually the voice of the people of the world, and not the voices of dictatorship and autarky, we might offer Obama a deal which lets him off lightly from his indictment for war crimes if he will throw the resources of the US into a new UN international convention banning autonomous and other killing robots. The people of the US might even support such action if they were to take note of the increasing militarism of their local and federal police forces and other paramilitaries and realize that it’s only a matter of time before all these robots are put to work policing Americans.
