Israel and its allies need to recognize that Hamas has political legitimacy

Jimmy Carter and Mary Robinson write: Unity between Fatah and Hamas is currently stronger than it has been for many years. As Elders, we believe this is one of the most encouraging developments in recent years and welcome it warmly. This presents an opportunity for the Palestinian Authority to reassume control over Gaza — an essential first step towards Israel and Egypt lifting the blockade.

The Palestinian Authority cannot manage the task of administering Gaza on its own. It will need the prompt return of the EU Border Assistance Mission, an international effort to help monitor border crossings that was launched in 2005 and suspended in 2007. EU High Representative Catherine Ashton has already offered to reinstate the program, covering not only Rafah but all of Gaza’s crossings. Egypt and Israel would, in turn, cooperate with international monitors to be deployed in Gaza and along its borders, backed by a U.N. Security Council mandate to protect civilian populations. A valuable precedent for trust-building between Egypt and Israel is the international peacekeeping force operating in the Sinai, mandated by the peace treaty signed by the two countries in 1979.

The international community’s initial goal should be the full restoration of the free movement of people and goods to and from Gaza through Israel, Egypt, and the sea. Concurrently, the United States and EU should recognize that Hamas is not just a military but also a political force. Hamas cannot be wished away, nor will it cooperate in its own demise. Only by recognizing its legitimacy as a political actor — one that represents a substantial portion of the Palestinian people — can the West begin to provide the right incentives for Hamas to lay down its weapons. Ever since the internationally monitored 2006 elections that brought Hamas to power in Palestine, the West’s approach has manifestly contributed to the opposite result. [Continue reading…]

God Bless WAR IN CONTEXT for, like me, it has survived the ravages of these times. I would have hated to live on but it having died away of despair.

US has paid billions for Israel’s Iron Dome to protect it from HAMAS rockets. Just this year congress approved a quarter billion dollars to maintain it. This high cost– over and above the billions Israel gets every year fee from the US– was not to give Israel an edge so it can go in and massacre Gaza Palestinians like fish in a barrel Israel controls. Yet Israel seized all this aid in order to perpetuate its policy of Palestinian extermination.

Ben Gurion challenged the Iron Wall Strategy of the Facist wing Zionists (the founders of Netanyahu’s party) that proposed extermination of all Arabs as Israel expands. He said that the dream of an exclusively Jewish state into which all Jews must go that covers the entire area between the Nile and Euphrates is doable, “bit by bit” but cannot be done all at once. For 60 years the US has been funding an Israeli state that finally turned Gaza into a copy of the Warsaw Ghetto and, like the Germans in Warsaw, uses any resistance to such strangling internment as excuse to exterminate its inhabitants. Did the US put billions into the Iron Dome so that the IDF can copy the German model without any danger, or was it explicitly so that Israel NOT massacre the Palestinians?

Israel will never become the Jewish STATE between the two rivers so long as over 70% of World Jewry deems Israel a nice place to visit but not to live, so long as Israel’s best and brightest sabras, upon graduating from Israel’s wonderful universities, leave for a life in the Diaspora, leaving Israelis with no other option to live in a rump Jewish state. And so its leaders feel that they have no choice but to seize on exploiting the Saudi-Iranian conflict to exterminate as many Palestiiians as possible lest they gain Israeli citizenship in a secular state and outnumber the Jews.

Divide and conquer is Israel’s strategy: the Iranians and Saudis…the US and Russia…the EU and the US…all so that it can eliminate the Palestinian majority within its borders. Israel has put itself in exactly Afrikaner South Africa’s position. It is hoping to use World Jewry as a pressure group to politically force Western governments to tolerate its extermination of Arabs…as Ben Gurion advised: “bit by bit.”

But Israel has one weakness: It can’t tolerate military casualties and lives off America via a financial placenta through which flow $billions upon $billions. This means that the US is financing its policy of expansion through extermination. Long ago Israel decided that it cannot count on the Palestinians to leave voluntarily or by fear and so it decided to copy the Germany’s plan for the Warsaw Ghetto once it invaded Poland. Our massive financing and provision of know-how to provide its Iron Dome was NOT to make extermination of Palestinians easier and safer.

Netanyahu was one of the most brilliant strategist for an economic separate but interdependent region. He recognized that Israel can lead the Middle east into modernity and make a miracle of the Middle East together with the Arabs as it made of itself. But swamped by the Soviet shysters he is forced to bow to their German-like strategy in order to remain head of his party. And so, the GAZA HOLOCAUST goes on. It is not the killing of Palestinians that make it a Holocaust– that would only make it a massacre– but that it is a nation born of the Holocaust has decided to repeat it on our dime!

Meanwhile, Israel shrinks while it inflames anti-Semitism all over the world. Warning Zionists of what dangers they create for the mass majority of World Jewry that has chosen to live as loyal citizen and leaders of western states falls on deaf ears. For Zionists deem all Jews who do not make the aliyah and move to Israel “PARASITES” and only relishes fueling the flames of anti-Semitism, certain that these “parasites” would gather their wealth and stampede to Israel if that should happen.

I have come to know Israel personally. In times of peace, its power and intellect made clear how it would come to lead the Middle East into modernity. But so much scum was brought in from Russia just to increase its Jewish population some decades back that now they dominate as wonderful a leader as Netanyahu. Using the German warsaw Ghetto method of incitement to excuse extermination cannot work. We can see why now. Israelis cannot tolerate casualties– a sign of a high level of civilization, valuing the lives of its young– but the Palestinians have come to value nothing above revenge and every act massacre provokes more willingness on the part of Palestinians to die for revenge. No Israeli is ready to do that…that’s why so many leave. Unless Israel stops sending in men only to die after its killing machines lost effect, it only has to pull them out because Israelis can’t stand casualties. And so, facing ever more Palestinian vengeance, Israel, in the words of its right-wing magazine AZUR, is “losing its best and brightest” to the Diaspora. That’s the bleeding that Israel can’t afford and why its copy of the German Strategy in the Warsaw Ghetto wil be catastrophic. The more Palestinians die, the more the wonderful Israel I had come to know bleeds, bleeds , bleeds until it exsanguinates. Netayahu must save it from the evil corrupt Soviets he is cowering to!
