England riots: pair jailed for four years for using Facebook to incite disorder

The Guardian reports:

Two men have been jailed for four years for using Facebook to incite disorder.

Jordan Blackshaw, 20, from Marston near Northwich, and Perry Sutcliffe-Keenan, 22, from Warrington, appeared at Chester crown court on Tuesday. They were arrested last week following incidents of violent disorder in London and other cities across the UK.

Neither of their Facebook posts resulted in a riot-related event.

During the sentencing, the recorder of Chester, Elgin Edwards, praised the swift actions of Cheshire police and said he hoped the sentences would act as a deterrent to others.

Well I’m glad they sorted that out quickly! Thank goodness it was Facebook; the Tories will be relieved that the society that has been created has nothing to do with the society that has been created. Now they can get on with covering up the criminality of their media Ned Kelly mates from down under!

Not just these two arrests, this facebook comment:

“I think we should start rioting, it’s about time we stopped the authorities pushing us about and ruining this country. It’s about time we stood up for ourselves for once. So come on rioters – get some. LOL.”

Was made by a 17 year old kid. He made the comment on the internet but didn’t go out into the streets. That didn’t stop the police raiding his home and bringing him before the courts, where he was yesterday given a 12 month ban from social media sites and 120 hours community service as well as being forced to observe a curfew between the hours of 7pm and 6am for 3 months.

Of course it says something else entirely when this boy gets charged for making 1 single comment on facebook and yet the neo-nazi English Defence League can run whole websites, cheering the Norway massacre and calling for Muslims to be kicked out of Britain and even staging public rallies in London.
