Jewish youth screaming “death to Arabs” murder Palestinian in Jerusalem

Amid the revolutionary cheer that was emanating from Egypt last week, a group of Israeli Jews attacked and killed a Palestinian in the heart of West Jerusalem. 24-year-old Palestinian Hussam Rwidy was killed by a group of nationalist Jewish youth screaming “death to Arabs” as he was walking home from work. The Israeli government quickly put a media blackout on the case fearing a violent reactions from Palestinians in Jerusalem, Israel and the West Bank. Once the media blackout was lifted, select Israeli media outlets covered the story as a “drunken brawl turned bad” and the story was largely ignored.

Christopher Hoare February 23, 2011 at 8:24 pm: The world must watch to ensure these criminal youths are tried and punished. The more publicity and the more eyes that watch, the less chance for the Israeli government to hide the racist attack and murder.
Norman February 23, 2011 at 8:44 pm: Perhaps these same individuals that are members of the IDF who shoot the unarmed Palestinians in the peace marches, are racist members like the youth portrayed here. I wonder, if the Israeli’s in Israel who are peaceful protesters will join the Palestinians? Would the IDF then fire on their own people, massacre them, along with the Palestinians? Will the U.S. sit idly buy and watch, supply the IDF with more ammunition? History in the making.
