I think he probably understates the predicament and overstates our capacity to deal with it in a planned, rational way, though I understand the need to give people hope. But here we are, so far into exponential overshoot that only exponential population collapse will bring things back into balance (no we really can’t feed, cloth and shelter all of these people on a sustainable basis). And we are having bitter, divisive debates over contraception, of all things.
