A coincidence: we went to a concert given by Jayme Stone at the 100 year old Empress theatre in Fort Macleod last night, and he and his supporting musicians played Contrapunctus (#1 maybe) with electric banjo, double base, clarinet, and violin. It was a very different take on Bach, and shared the program with a Bulgarian dance, a Moorish sword-fighting dance and a Scruggs tune. He has won a Canadian Folk Music Award for Instrumental Artist of the Year, and is currently on tour in Western Canada.
