President Obama who now claims to welcome open debate of his Administration’s surveillance. Yet, authorities blocked every effort to have an open debate on these issues each time the laws that his Administration claims authorizes these programs came up for re-authorization.
In 2009 Re: Section 215 of Patriot Act; in 2011 again Re: section 215 of the PA; nor did it take the opportunity for debate when the FISA Amendments Act came up for re authorization.
This act is what the Administration contends authorizes its PRISM program. It passed without the open debate that the President now contends he wanted all along.
