Pastor Jones’ phony Muslim-friendly posture on CNN

In an interview on CNN this morning, Dr Terry Jones, the Florida pastor who has organized “International Burn a Koran Day” for September 11, said:

We want to send a clear message to the peaceful Moslems. We have freedom of speech. We have freedom of religion. They are more than welcome to be here. More than welcome to worship. More than welcome to build mosque[s].

Say what? In July, Jones was asked whether he thought Muslims would turn to Christ as a result of his Quran-burning event:

This is our prayer and desire that they would seriously reexamine their religion. They will then come to the conclusion that Islam is of the devil and Christianity is the only true religion.

Jones now tells CNN that Muslims are welcome to worship in America but in a broadcast of his “Braveheart Show” in May he said:

We must demand that all Moslems that are here, they adapt to our values — they become Americans. If they want to stay Moslems, with their culture, with their Islamic law, then they can stay in Moslem dominated countries.

He now says Muslims are more than welcome to build mosques in America. In May he said:

We should stop immediately, stop right now, the building of all mosque[s] in America…

So, Jones says Muslims are welcome to build mosques in America and that no more mosques should be built. Muslims are welcome to worship here, but if they want to practice their religion they should live in a Muslim-dominated country.

Is that supposed to be a clear message?

We can’t expect our children, our grandchildren, our co-workers or the next generation to do what is right if they see us doing what is wrong.

Gee, he got his script from the neocons who heard from their benefactors that first it’s Muslims and it will soon be Jews next.

  3. Norman

DE, aren’t the neocons benefactors Jewish? So then that means the script Jones got, originated in Israel, is that what you are saying? At least that would be my take here. Perhaps you could elaborate more? Before you think I’m Jewish or a sympathizer of Israel, I’m not, I’m just tired of all this hate mongering, and the Israeli’s are acting just like the Nazi’s that they shoved down everyone’s throat that disagreed with them. I’m also against the U.S. supporting Israel in their being the bully in the sand box.

Go a head with your evil action

BUT I AS MUSLIM WILL NOT BURN THE BIBLE

when will the people of America ( USA ) wake up and realise that issue is not the Quran
    the issue.not Islam

THE IS SUE IS THAT THE WEST CAN NOT EXPECT PEACE IN MED-EAST WITHOUT JUSTICE

THE ISSUE IS THAT AMERICA WILL ONE DAY ,I HOPE NOT TO LATE REALISE
THAT ITS ACTION AT HOME AND ABROAD LEADS TO A REACTION FROM PEOPLE
WHO HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE HUMAN CIVILISATION OF FREEDOM AND QUALITY BASED ON JUSTICE AND PEACE LONG BEFORE THE CIVIL WARS IN EUROPE AND AMERICA THAT WERE FOUGHT TO ACHIEVE THESE VALUES.

THE ARAB AND MUSLIM WORLD WAS NEVER THE ENEMY OF YOUR COUNTRY
DO NOT LET EXTREMIST IN YOUR COUNTRY LEAD YOU TO THE PASS OF EVIL

MAY GOD HELP THE WORLD IN FIGHTING EVIL WHERE EVER IT MAY HIDE

I think he’s saying, they have a Constitutional right to worship, and build Mosques, just sensitivity would dictate they do it in Muslim countries.

Kamal, great post — I agree entirely.

Please read my response on the earlier Pastor Jones thread, where I say basically much the same thing as you.

    Norman,

The neocon-Christian Zionists alliance is well known. But the Christian Fundamentalists are fragmenting over real issues and are falling on economic hard times. As a result– even though it’s still tax-deductible– being a “preacher” ain’t so profitable anymore, so attention-seeking devices are always needed to bring in the “manna” (doe). At the same time, fragmentation on various issues no longer assures Israel the Christian Zionist disciplined one-voicedness that it could sent lobby for it in Congress. Zionist vote (as opposed to Jewish vote which has tended to go silent out of disgust but determined that silence is golden because it does no harm) and funds were never enough to produce the blind Congressional following of Israel in the past, especially now that it is violating global rules and killing people, putting at risk American lives and oil needed.

Another factor– Neocons fear that a large Muslim refugee migration to US, as happened with Vietnamese after we abandoned Vietnam, would “flood” America with a population equally ethnocentric-religious and prosperous as Jews so that it could overwhelm Israel’s monopoly of Congress. Consequently, neocons set-up dummy organizations that scream about Latin American immigration but really mean Muslim immigration. Also, the so-called “ground-zero-mosque” hoopla was started by the neocon paper of record, NYPOST. These ex-Leninists are simply working their POLARIZE TO MOBILIZE tactics learned in their Commie youth on Israel’s behalf (of course, the “Israel” they obey is the right-wing nutty one, not Netanyahu). It is impossible to attribute to all “Jews” or “Zionists” the crazy conspiracies of neocons. But now that Likud is in power, they support its most radical wing. Like Republican Party, Likud is full of cannibals that eat their way up by swallowing whole guy above them in the infrastructure sitting on their faces. That’s how they get ahead. But on the whole, the Zionism of neocons and Ziofacists in Israel are very similar. Extremism is deemed vital to polarizing so they can mobilize Jews. Read Lenin on the tactic and you’ll see that it’s not “Jews,” “Zionists,” or “Israel” per say at issue but the extreme right trying to impose a Greater Israel dominating the Middle East through their “World War IV” on Islam upon the world. Take note of their anti-“Eurabia” campaign, claiming that Europeans, because of their “hereditary” anti-Semitism, have fallen prey to Arab domination so are anti-Israel. There’s no upper limit to what these guys will do until it costs them personally because what’s really motivating them is their life-long “mensch-hood” issue, having relied on shyterisms and radical cover-ups to make money from the very issues they hope will establish their long missing “mensch-hood.” BUT NEVER FORGET THAT THESE CRAZIES ARE A FEW TRYING TO HERD THE MANY AND TRYING TO GET US “dumb goyim” to bow to them– THEN THEY THINK THAT THEY CAN CALL THEMSELVES “real mensch”!

The burning of any religions book is wrong and disrespectful so to is the burning of any countrys flag. But hey this has and will continue to be done by those opposed to christanity and we all look away.

How come we must bow to the sensitivities of others and fear their violent threats. Is this guy Jones wrong nothing I have heard him say seems hateful or wrong. In Dubi you can have any church you like as long as:
There are no markings to say what religion it is (except Muslim)
There are no bells or public address for call to prayer (except Muslim)
No person wears garments which indicate their religon (except Muslim)
Yep these guys are fair, this is their way and those who choose to live/visit Dubi respect and accept this ruling.

For to long the world has pandered to the whims of those who will cut people down in the name of their God. The same people who want equal rights but have and demand their own schools, language, dress code, laws, ideals and lack of respect or tolerance for everyone else. These people wallow in the fact that they rule their own people and everyone else with fear and have little difficulty in demonstrating just how far the will go to prove this point.

When in rome do as the romans do this is respect, consideration and openess in attitude for others and what the majority of the worlds population does, but is this the radical Muslim way. The radical Muslim can burn the bible, Burn Flags, order the death sentence on those who may offend them and encourage their fellow beliviers to achive this, call and proclaim they seek the destruction of a state/country and it’s entire population, carry out any act they wish in the name of their God, make any statement they desire in the name of their God and the rest of us must endure these statements and actions combined with the deafing silience that emmits from the ordinary peaceful Muslim, is this right. It seems that in the Muslim world the Tail wags the dog and intergration is a one way street which the rest of the planet must intergrate and succumb to their way or else.

Again I ask is this man Jones really doing something wrong. I for one do not think so.
