Arizona has become ‘the Mecca for prejudice and bigotry’

The New York Times reported:

The shooting of Representative Gabrielle Giffords and others at a neighborhood meeting in Arizona on Saturday set off what is likely to be a wrenching debate over anger and violence in American politics.

While the exact motivations of the suspect in the shootings remained unclear, an Internet site tied to the man, Jared Lee Loughner, contained antigovernment ramblings. And regardless of what led to the episode, it quickly focused attention on the degree to which inflammatory language, threats and implicit instigations to violence have become a steady undercurrent in the nation’s political culture.

Clarence W. Dupnik, the Pima County sheriff, seemed to capture the mood of the day at an evening news conference when he said it was time for the country to “do a little soul-searching.”

“It’s not unusual for all public officials to get threats constantly, myself included,” Sheriff Dupnik said. “That’s the sad thing about what’s going on in America: pretty soon we’re not going to be able to find reasonable, decent people willing to subject themselves to serve in public office.”

I am sorry for the people shot by one lone nutcase, especially the 9 year old child, it’s tragic beyond words.
But I am completely cold to the whining and grandstanding of the politicians on this.
One deranged person shoots a politician and “it’s a attack on the country!”..a attack on one politician is an attack on congress!”…”it’s an attack on our non violent democracy!”..ad nausum.
And now they are decrying the rehortic and hate that they themselves and their minons and politico operatives have been promoting and engaging in for decades?
The politicians started all this themselves long, long ago with their voter “niches” and pandering to their little niches for their party and own political careers and demonizing the other side. Aren’t for illegal immigration?.. then you’re a white racist cause the dems want those hispanic voters. Don’t like the income equality?..then you’re a socialist commie engaging in class warfare against republican donors.

I believe it was the day before this Clifford attack that congress’s diamond collared pet mad dog riddled an innocent man with bullets in Gaza and though nothing of it.
Now suddenly congress doesn’t believe in violence?
Only when the gun is pointed at their heads, for everyone else it’s fine.
The nutcase shooter had an excuse, he’s clinically crazy.
    What’s the politicians excuse?

What’s the politicians excuse? Don’t bite the hand that feeds you! Besides, the still living victim is a Democrat, so why should the right care? After all, they control the lower house, so shall do their masters bidding. The politicians are the ones who are responsible for this latest outrage, along with their shadow financial backers. Ah, the speeches that are overflowing the air waves today, will only continue to bolster those who will make like they are up for change, as long as it’s someone else, not them.
