Four years in the making, Roadmap to Apartheid is almost done! Now, we really need everyone’s help to get to the finish line.
Ana Nogueira is a white South African and Eron Davidson a Jewish Israeli. Drawing on their first-hand knowledge of the issues, the producers take a close look at the apartheid comparison often used to describe the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Narrated by author and activist Alice Walker, the film breaks down the rhetorical analogy into a fact-based comparison, noting where the analogy is useful and appropriate, and where it is not.
There are many lessons to draw from the South African experience relevant to conflicts all over the world. This film is as much a historical document of the rise and fall of apartheid, as it is a film about why many Palestinians feel they are living in an apartheid system today, and why a growing number of people around the world agree with them.
While not perfect the apartheid analogy is a useful framework by which to educate people on the complex issues facing Israelis and Palestinians. Roadmap to Apartheid delves into those issues, comparing the many similar laws and tools used by both Israel and apartheid-era South Africa. The film winds its way through the West Bank, Gaza Strip and Inside Israel itself, showing the audience what life is like for Palestinians in all those areas. Using interviews with Palestinians and Israelis, combined with archival material and anecdotes from South Africans, we will form a complete picture as to why the analogy is being used with increasing frequency and potency.
We have achieved picture lock! This means we are done editing. But there is still a lot to do, and its the most expensive part. Although we have set our goal at $25,000, we are actually in need of $40,000 to pay for all the upcoming costs associated with releasing the film. MY COMMENT: I made a modest contribution towards this worthwhile project.
I would suggest a distinction: Afrikaners assumed blacks– “Kafirs”– a truly inferior species, not just race; hence no qualms over their murderous abuses. Zionists are different. Ashkenazis of a totally East European mind set of kill your ethnic neighbor before he kills you, they chose to ape the German model of dogged efficiency. But in the Zionist heart there is no real sense of racial superiority over Arabs— distant relatives– just an anxiety of VULNERABILITY in an imaginary winner take all, loser dies scenario of their own making.. Hence Zionists, like the East Euros from which they came, look to the Nazis as an efficient model of expansionism, attaining LEBENSRAUM through EXTERMINATION.
Devoid of German self-discipline and uniformity, Zionist leaders ape the Nazi ideology and strategy though they know better. As a result they go from cold-blooded killing, to guilt; then hasbara to cover-up; then fear of retribution; then “well, since I get go back I might as well continue forward on my path” fatalism. But the Jewish Ethic constantly acreams in their heads and gives them no peace. So, constantly they seek to quiet their collective conscience with rationalized fear of extermination, claiming to be universally hated by jealous goyim in trying to convince themselves that as God’s chosen people whatever they do is OK. The result is a psychotic nation fighting the demons of guilt and fear, shame and lies in its own collective head rather than any dangerous Palestinian enemies. If there were a reset button that would wipe out the past so that Israel could start all over again, most Zionists would press it without a second thought. But there isn’t….so the moral pain in their heads and hearts as Jews is a chronic pain they desperately seek to quell by fooling others so others can fool them into believing their own self-justifying lies, murderous bravura killing helpless people and panicked censorship in fear of the World Court. As so many Zionists write: WE ARE VICTIMS OF OUR OWN FELLOW JEWS WHO HOLD A MIRROR BEFORE OUR BLOOD STAINED FACES AND HANDS. Whomever they duped, Zionists never duped themselves; nor did they ever quiet the inner voice of the Jewish Ethic by which they were raised. Above all, they never convinced themselves that the only alternative is extermination of the Arab “other.” Adding to their woes, they fear abandonment so they try to convince of their righteousness those outside without whose cash the entire enterprise would collapse.
The Afrikaners were COLD BLOODED MURDERERS, as convinced of their right to kill and dominate as any Gestapo. The Israelis are good people who grasped the very model they survived, thinking that it would make them safe and secure. It didn’t; it drove them mad with guilt instead, forever recalling that per their own faith, their dispersal from Jerusalem was God’s punishment for their collective sin.
I repeat: Israel is NOT Afrikaner for it doesn’t really see Palestinians as “Kafirs.” Getting at the front of the Arab Spring it could bring peace and quell the demons of fear and guilt driving it mad.

As I mentioned awhile back that in my files on the Palestinian/Israeli conflict I have saved many of you opinions expressed on the subject here in War in Context. There is much to be learned and considered in most of them. However, in going through other remarks that I have reviewed about your opinion response today I find there are many that would take objection to your views of today – for instance:

You see DE Teodoru this where, with respect to your experience and wisdom, I also take exception to your remarks of today. When it comes to the lives and domination of the Palestinian people over the last 60 years I find it difficult not to see much difference from Israeli /Zionist policies; the harassing despicable conduct of the IDF-ODF troops toward the Palestinians and Gazan people and their children, the Wall(s), check points, and roads that isolates villages from their mother cities and divides the West Bank into disconnected cantons Bantustans/ghettos. Israel is NOT Afrikaner – what is the point? –the murderous abuses are the same.

It’s like the difference between someone who believes it is quite right for him to amuse himself hunting down peasants and someone who knows that killing peasants to get their crops is a crime. The latter is always looking over his shoulder expecting the law to nail him. The former has no qalms and can’t, for the life of him, grasp what the fuss is all about.
Israelis who so used the invoking the “crime against Jews” for cash and claiming the right of retribution know full well that they’re repeating what was done to the non-Zionist Jews of Europe and therefore face judicial accounting. Hence they act like mad men: excuse it–>worry about retribution–>do it even more–>excuse it–>worry–>do it even more….They know; that’s the basis of the guilt, fear and psychotic hasbara!
