Newly-released unedited video of the Israeli attack on the Mavi Marmara

This afternoon, Cultures of Resistance released a one-hour video of unedited footage recorded before and during the Israeli attack on the Mavi Marmara:

On the night of Sunday, May 30, showing a terrifying disregard for human life, Israeli naval forces surrounded and boarded ships sailing to bring humanitarian aid to the blockaded Gaza Strip. On the largest ship, the Mavi Marmara, Israeli commandos opened fire on civilian passengers, killing at least 9 passengers and wounding dozens more. Others are still missing. The final death toll is yet to be determined. Cultures of Resistance director Iara Lee was aboard the besieged ship and has since returned home safely.

Despite the Israeli government’s thorough efforts to confiscate all footage taken during the attack, Iara Lee was able to retain some of her recordings. Above is raw footage from the moments leading up to and during the Israeli commandos’ assault on the Mavi Marmara.

I watched the video. It is so obvious that Israeli commandos started firing first, not even from the Helicopters to start with but from one of their naval boats trying to surround the ship. They are bloody liars and disgusting and Obama is going to let them get away with it? Is he going to wait “to understand the circumstances” under which nine civilians, peace activists were killed? Obama and all the elected officials who have supported Israeli operation should watch this video. May be they will learn a thing or two about what is being done with billions of dollars with no strings attached—-Israeli govt behaving with absolute impunity!

I am really surprised, la verité, that you think that Obama would be surprised or shamed by watching the video. This and other US administrations have acted as paymaster and director of Israel’s actions for may years. The great majority of the US public, senate, and congress have gone on record as supporting the murder of the unarmed civilians in international waters.

The US is more culpable than Israel.

    Regards, Alex

I couldn’t agree more with your statement, Alex. We may not like this simple fact but that’s how it is.

It’s in America’s interest first (followed by Israel – being a head construct – for fear of implodig and therefore needing perpetual wars) to have the Middle East simmering in turmoil; not too much but never peace either. It’s also in USrael’s interest to keep the Arab people oppressed and strangulated by the servants of USrael and traitors of their own people – comonly known as the “moderate Arab leaders”.

Imagine the people would get their demanded rights i.e. freedom, democracy, justice! What to do with all the servants to USrael? How to dispose of them without damaging the environment … how?

The whole “religious” conflict or clash of civilisation (Prof. Bernhard Lewis in 1992 and Huntington in 1997) is nothing but a fabricated fairy tale with murderous consequences for the people living in the Middle East and to a lesser extend the Muslim community worldwide. But then … the political-military-industrial complex in either country never really cared about the people – not even their own ones.

But hey!! the terrorists are always the Arabs and/or the Muslims – never forget that!

Take a good look at this video. At minute 036+ there is a good well-illuminated view of one of the Israeli boats, with commandos definitely using paint guns, with top-mounted paint reservoirs.
My own view is that this was a feint, with the Israelis knowing full well they couldn’t board a high-sided ship that way. The real attack came from helicopters onto the top deck, and some of that was paint guns (see paint, not blood, on wall behind inter-decks ladder).
None of this obscures the fact that it was a vicious and lethal attack on an umarmed ship in international waters.
